My workshops go well beyond the basics and focus on the art of intention. Offering a look at the art, craft, and approach to landscape photography that I use to create the photographs I share with you. Breaking away from traditional workshops, we all shoot locations together as a team. When we arrive, I explain the what and why behind the location choice and elaborate on what I am looking for as I develop the photograph on location. I expand on camera settings, choice of focal length, and composition as we explore and learn the location together. These workshops offer a behind the scenes look at the thought process behind the photographs I share with you, as you shoot alongside me in the field.
I have been a photographer for over twenty years, fifteen of which I have actively worked as a professional. In that time, I have had the opportunity to teach photography at universities and colleges, photography clubs, private schools, and workshops. I realized early on that my passion was not simply photography itself, but teaching others as well.
Today I proudly lead workshops sharing years of lessons, musings, and wisdom with others. Approaching everything from the perspective of what I would have benefited from knowing early in my journey is the foundation of my workshops. My goal is to simply provide you with the tools, understanding, and proficiency needed to produce incredible work long after the workshop ends.
